Welcome the holiday season with the Liberty Hill Christmas Parade — a lighted parade complete with the sights and sounds of Christmas.
Please note that we have a new parade route that will BEGIN and END at Liberty Hill Intermediate School. (The new route map will be added as soon as it is available. Please check back often.)

The parade will start on time regardless of the weather conditions (we will only delay for lightning). Please plan your entry to accommodate the weather predicted.

Only ONE entry fee is required per group/organization.
(Ex. If your group has 10 clown cars, you pay $20 to enter the entire group.)
The parade staging area will open at 4:00pm on December 15th. Prior to that time, your may drop off your float; however, security will NOT be on-site until 4:00pm. The Liberty Hill Christmas Festival IS NOT responsible for theft of damage to any floats left unattended at the staging grounds.
Parade floats will be the only vehicles allowed in the staging area. Parade participants must park in the Liberty Hill Junior High School parking lot or use the LHJHS circular driveway for drop offs.
Check in will begin at 4:30pm and end at 5:15pm. Please have ONE representative from your float check in with the registration table upon arrival.
Vehicles and floats will line up on Champion Way (between LHIS & LHJHS) and must remain on the RIGHT side of the road at all times. The 5k runners will be using the left side of Champion Way for the run which starts at 4:30pm. You will receive line up information and a number for your windshield when you check-in. The number you receive IS NOT your place in line. It is for grandstand identification and announcement purposes only.
There will be a mandatory route and safety meeting at 5:20pm. Please have one driver or representative per entry meet at the registration table where you checked in.

Floats may unload as soon as they arrive back at the LHJHS. Please be cautious and watch for children as you pull into the drop off area.
All visible sides of all floats must be covered and decorated. Entries are encouraged to utilize sight, sound, and motion to engage attention. There will be Christmas decorations stretched across Loop 332 in downtown Liberty Hill that your float will need to clear. As required by Pedernales Electric Cooperative and the City of Liberty Hill, the maximum height of each float from pavement to the highest point is 12 feet. Any float that exceeds the maximum height will not be allowed to travel along the parade route. Please make sure your float is stable and all items on the float are secured and stabilized. Alcohol, tobacco, and firearms are prohibited in the staging area, lineup, and on floats.
Lighting is the key component to this year’s parade. Please make sure your float is very well lit and visible to the parade viewers. Please make sure to secure and cover all wiring so your passengers don’t trip on the cords. You might consider giving your passengers glow sticks, glow necklaces, glow glasses, etc. for added effect. Don’t forget to add a SIGN / BANNER to your float identifying your company, organization, group, etc. (Many floats did not have identification on them last year!)
FLOAT ANNOUNCEMENTS & WINNERS:
All entries will be announced as they pass the parade emcee that will be in front of Parker’s Corner Market. Float announcements will be read directly from the registration form you submit when you register for the parade. If you need to change your float description or how it will be announced, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org immediately. **No changes will be made after 5pm Friday, December 14, 2018.** Float winners will be announced by the emcee as they pass in front of Parker’s Corner Market. Prizes will be awarded for 1st Place, 2nd Place, 3rd Place and Honorable Mention.
LIBERTY HILL ANGEL TREE & OPERATION LIBERTY HILL:
The Circle G Events Clydesdale and covered wagon will wrap up the parade by stopping along the parade route to collect unwrapped toys for the Liberty Hill Angel Tree and canned goods for Operation Liberty Hill. This may take a bit as children will be allowed to run into the street to deliver their toys to Santa and his elves. 100% of the toys and food collected stay in our community.

POST-PARADE DRIVER PARKING:
Upon returning to LHIS, continue along Champion Way to LHJHS. Floats may begin unloading once they are safely parked in the LHJHS parking log. Please be aware of your surroundings at all times; watching for children and other moving vehicles.
Shuttles will be available after the parade to take participants from LHJHS to Foundation Park. The festival sanctioned shuttles will be white school busses that have the Fellowship Church logo on the sides. Shuttles will run after the festival as well.
This is NOT a “weather permitting” event. The parade will begin at 6:10pm regardless of the weather conditions (we will only delay for lightning). Please plan your entry to accommodate the predicted weather and make sure to secure all canopies, tents, and decorations used. Please provide safe places for your passengers, especially children, to ride on your float and make sure your passengers have a place to hold on to.
All animals must be under control and have kennel, cargo, or cage space available if needed during the event.
NEW FOR 2018:
The parade route will begin at Liberty Hill Intermediate School, turn left on Loop 332, turn right on Carl Shipp Drive, turn left on 1869 and proceed to the 4-way stop downtown. Participants will turn left at the stop sign and proceed along Loop 332 and finish at LHIS. If you are walking, remember to pace yourself. The new route is approximately twice the length of the previous route!
Tossing candy to spectators is a historic and time-honored tradition; however, for safety reasons, absolutely no candy may be thrown from the floats this year. All candy MUST be handed out by side walkers only. For the safety of the spectators, please DO NOT purchase or allow your side walkers to toss candy that has sticks into the crowd (ex: blow pops, lollipops, etc.).
Due to the length of this year’s route and the growing interest to participate, we are limiting the number of entries to 60. First come basis.
